Many of the nominees for Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Supervisors and Special Advisers, that would constitute the executive council of Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (IBLCDA), who will work with Omoba Hameed Aroyewun, have assured residents of good performance and development.
According to sources, 22 nominees were screened by members of the Igbogbo-Bayeku LCDA 6th Legislative Council between Thursday and Friday, during its plenary sessions. THE IMPACT also gathered that all the nominees were also cleared and confirmed.
They spoke with our reporters after their screening.
Mr Lawal Shakiru Owoyele, a former two -term Councilor from Ward C2, commended the Councilors for the thorough job in the screening of the nominees.

While thanking God and leaders for his nomination, Mr Lawal also assured residents that he would work with the Chairman, to bring about good governance and further development to Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA.
Young Mr Toheeb Aina Oke, representing Ward C, and who, until his nomination, was a teacher and Secretary, Igbogbo Youth Forum (IYC), described his nomination as a special one, and extended his appreciation to the Executive Chairman of the council and political leaders for finding him worthy of the important assignment.
“The nomination from the leader is something that is very special to me, and I take it with all my heart. I am very grateful, especially to the Executive Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, and all our political leaders”.

While commending the local legislators for the screening exercise, Toheeb said that he would give all his best in discharging his responsibilities, and ensure that he contributes meaningfully to the development of the council.
“Well, the screening was very interesting. I sincerely appreciate the leadership of the house for doing what is expected of them. They were diligent and transparent. They offer corrections where I was supposed to be guided and I received praises when and where due. So, the screening process was properly done, and I sincerely appreciate the leader and all the members of the council chamber for doing their work properly.
“By the grace of God Almighty, you should be expecting the better part of me in discharging my responsibilities in whatever capacity that is given to me by the leadership of the LCDA. For me, they should be expecting contributions and actions that would be instrumental to the development of the council. They should be expecting a serious-minded and thorough political appointee that is coming on board to support the chairman in moving the council forward”.

He charged the chairman not to relent in taking the council to a greater height with his agenda, and pledged to give him maximum support to fully achieve them.
“I want to appeal to the Chairman to make sure that he is not letting go of his resolve and determination to develop, expand and reshape the landscape of our LCDA. His resolution and determination are to make sure that our LCDA is well respected in the committee of local governments in Lagos and Nigeria as a whole. As a member of his team, he can count on my total loyalty and support”.
A former Councilor aspirant for Ward C5, Mr Alliu Hassan who was full of appreciation to the Chairman and political leaders for the appointment, said that he wasn’t expecting it.
Like others, he commended the Councilors for the screening which he said was necessary to test the nominees’ capacities.

“The people of Igbogbo/Baiyeku should be expecting a new sheriff in town and further developments across our communities. We are going to deliver and do the needful for the people in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA. We are going to support the Chairman in making the council great”.
Mrs Dawodu Adenike, representing Ward C2, commended the nominations by the leadership of APC in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, which she said are based on merit.
She pledged to sustain the inclusive system of the administration of Omoba Aroyewun.
